Stina Olafsdottir is the Interim Associate Vice President for Business and Administration Services at Kent State University where she leads a team of 27 employees in three departments in the areas of Cashiering, Collections, and Student Accounts. She has recently created a robust University-wide financial wellness program focused on empowering students to take charge of their financial wellness. Prior to her current position, she served as Manager of Student Accounts Receivable, Bursar’s Office. She is currently the President of the Women’s Center Advisory Board at Kent State University.
Before joining Kent State University in 2007, she was the Financial Coordinator for the Portage County Clerk of Courts. In this role she managed the collection and bookkeeping division and was responsible for all aspects of the budgeting process, including the development and administration of over $10 million in budget appropriations for seven different departments. She served as the liaison between the Clerk of Courts and other parts of the court system, including judges, law offices, and the public on financial and non-financial matters. Prior to her role as Financial Coordinator, she was a Budget and Financial Analyst for the Portage County Department of Budget and Financial Management. In this role, she prepared, analyzed, and reported directly to the Board of County Commissioners on over $15 million in budget appropriations for 190 budgets. She also served as the liaison between the Portage County Board of Commissioners and elected officials, department managers, and several external agencies on financial and non-financial matters. Stina is a native of Iceland. She received her BA in International Relations in 1997 and Master’s in Public Administration in May 2000, both from Kent State University. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the College of Health and Human Services at Kent State University.
