Dr. Shantelle K. Jenkins is an Associate Professor of Instruction and Associate Director of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree program at Ohio University. In the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, Dr. Jenkins works with faculty, professional staff, and students on interdisciplinary project teams. She supports student participation in finding research-based solutions to challenges facing communities, the economy, and the environment as they learn by doing and prepare for careers serving the public interest. OHIO’s MPA program prepares graduates to succeed in new frameworks and strategies to make valuable contributes to public, private, and nonprofit organizations. Dr. Jenkins is a faculty lead collaborator for an Academic Think Tank.
A strong advocate for students and faculty development, particularly the inclusion and success of students and faculty from historically underrepresented groups, Dr. Jenkins has over two decades of experience in non-profit management and social justice education. She began her career as a research assistant for the Ohio Department of Education in 2001. .
Dr. J. holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Affairs Journalism from The Ohio State University, Master of Science from Saint Joseph’s University (Philadelphia, PA), and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has a certificate in non-profit management from Bryn Mawr College and a certificate in leadership coaching from Georgetown University. Her research interests include executive coaching, women in leadership, succession planning, and faculty development. She has presented at both national and international conferences and enjoys serving her community through philanthropic efforts. in leadership, succession planning, equity and inclusion, and faculty development.
