Tara Stopfel Warden, PhD (2020) serves as the Assistant Vice Provost for Advising & Academic Services at the University of Cincinnati (UC.) She specializes in strategic leadership practice and program design for advising, enrollment management, and student success. Tara has established programs recognized regionally and nationally for innovation or exemplary practice. She provides leadership to the university’s 18 advising centers on three campuses and is responsible for orientation, college credit services, transfer advising, pre-professional advising, and advising technologies. She has advocated for and facilitated strategic investments of over $4M in advising and student success over the last 17 years at UC.
Tara currently chairs NACADA’s Administrators Institute and is published in two NACADA monographs, Advising Special Student Populations (2007) and Academic Advising Administration: Essential Knowledge and Skills for the 21st Century (2011.) She has been an invited presenter for events including Noel-Levitz and Academic Impressions webinars. In 2019, Tara received NACADA’s Michael C. Holen Pacesetter Global Award for excellence in the field of academic advising.
She completed her M.Ed. in Counseling and Student Services (Higher Education Administration focus) and a B.A. at the University of North Texas. Tara is also a graduate of the Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Institute.
