Dr. Ashley Currier (2013) is an Assistant Professor of Women’s Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Cincinnati.  Her research and teaching interests include Social Movements, Genders and Sexualities, Global and Transnational Sociology, and African Studies.  She plans to use the scholarship award to support her involvement in the 2013 African Studies Association annual meeting where she plans to foster professional connections with other African study scholars.
