Zakiya Brown is the Interim Dean of Students at Central State University. In this role, she provides leadership and management for the offices of Career/Internship Services and Workforce Development, Student Health and Counseling Services, Student Conduct, and Student Life and Development. She also creates and encourages teamwork, collaboration and community building among divisional staff within Central State University and the local community. She is currently working on her EdD in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education at Concordia University where she earned her graduate degree in Educational Leadership. She received her undergraduate degree in Economics from Central State University, Ohio’s only Public Historically Black College and University.
Zakiya also serves on the Advisory Board for the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area while also serving as a member of a number professional organizations such as the Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) and the Association for College Personnel Administrators (ACPA). She has also served on the Executive Boards for numerous community organizations that focused on empowering underserved youth to consider higher education during her tenure in Central Florida.
